This positive update was shared directly by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Allison Hooker, during a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly earlier this week. The outcome is the result of months of high-level diplomatic negotiations, culminating in a successful resolution.
It is noteworthy that these visa restrictions were initially implemented in July, affecting Ghana and several other nations. The restrictions included limitations to a maximum of three-month single entry visas, primarily in response to longstanding issues with visa overstays, particularly among students.
