African Most Beautiful USA Queen Ama Kwakye Leads Wellness Drive in Ghana

The glamour of pageantry is taking a different turn as  Ama Kwakye, reigning African Most Beautiful USA Queen, brings a message of wellness and healthy living to young people in Ghana.

Ms Kwakye, a Ghanaian-American entrepreneur and wellness advocate, is using her current visit to Ghana to engage young people and communities through a series of activities centred on fitness, mental well-being and healthier lifestyles.

The initiative is built around a simple message: taking care of one’s health should be part of everyday life, rather than something considered only when there is a problem.

As part of the programme, Kwakye will participate in a five-kilometre run at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in collaboration with ActiveAccra.

She is also scheduled to engage students at a school, where conversations will focus on physical activity, mental wellness and the importance of developing healthy habits at a young age.

For Queen Kwakye, the concept of wellness extends beyond physical exercise. It encompasses the mind, body and personal purpose, particularly at a time when young people are navigating academic, social and other pressures.

The outreach will continue in Dansoman, where a free Zumba and wellness session at Dansoman Tunga Latter Day Saints will provide residents with an opportunity to take part in a community fitness activity.

Through her wellness brand, Ama Kwakye has continued to promote an approach to healthy living that places emphasis on accessibility and participation.

Her work in Ghana also adds a community-development dimension to her reign, using the visibility that comes with the African Most Beautiful USA title to engage directly with young people rather than limiting the platform to pageantry-related activities.

Queen Kwakye believes that wellness can begin with small, consistent decisions.

“**Our wellness journey begins with simple choices. Move your body, take care of your mind and never forget your purpose because workouts heal you,**” she said.

The Ghana outreach forms part of her broader effort to use wellness and community engagement as avenues for encouraging young people to make healthier choices and take greater responsibility for their overall well-being.
