Ghana’s Leader Engages in Productive Discussions with President Tinubu in Abuja

This afternoon, the President of Ghana returned from a successful one-day working visit to Abuja, Nigeria, where he met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The visit underscored the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations, highlighted by President Tinubu’s attendance at the Ghanaian leader’s inauguration as Special Guest of Honour.

During their discussions, the leaders focused on enhancing the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to foster greater economic integration and cooperation among member states. They emphasized the urgent need for collaboration in combating terrorism and violent extremism, which pose significant threats to regional peace and stability.

Additionally, President Tinubu, who serves as Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State, was briefed on the Ghanaian leader’s recent engagements with the heads of state from Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, furthering the dialogue on regional security and cooperation.

The visit reinforced the commitment of both nations to work together for the benefit of their citizens and the stability of the region, reflecting a spirit of good neighbourliness and solidarity.
