GHANA’S PARLIAMENT STRENGTHENS DIPLOMATIC TIES WITH ISRAEL
Parliamentary leadership in Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations with Israel following a high-level meeting between the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, and the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Roey Gilad.
The meeting, held in Accra, focused on fostering bilateral cooperation and identifying opportunities for mutual growth and development between the two nations. Ambassador Gilad, who led the Israeli delegation, engaged with key parliamentary officials to discuss areas of strategic collaboration, including trade, technology, and education.
Among the prominent figures present at the meeting were the Hon. Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuye; Deputy Ranking Member for the Foreign Affairs Committee, Hon. Nana Asafo Adjei Ayeh; Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, and other officials from the Parliamentary Service.
During the discussions, Speaker Bagbin reiterated Ghana’s dedication to deepening its diplomatic ties with Israel, emphasizing the importance of fostering international partnerships that promote sustainable development. He highlighted the role of Parliament in facilitating international cooperation and ensuring that diplomatic engagements translate into tangible benefits for the citizens of Ghana.
